only bikeway on Cape Cod that runs
along the seashore. It extends from
Woods Hole Steamship Authority’s
site in the village of Woods Hole to
North Falmouth. Parking is available at
designated lots along the route.
SPOHR GARDENS
Margaret and Charles D. Spohr began
creating this amazing setting around
their home in the 1950’s and welcomed
visitors who had heard of its beauty.
With the passing of Charles and his
wife, the gardens passed to the Spohr
Charitable Trust which supports the
garden’s upkeep. Take a leisurely walk
in this magnificent six-acre garden
located at Oyster Pond. This beautiful
site is open daily from 8AM – 8PM.
Admission is Free to the general public.

WAQUOIT BAY NATIONAL ESTUARINE
RESEARCH RESERVE
WBNERR encompasses 3,000 acres
of open waters, barrier beaches,
marshlands and uplands. Land
components include Washburn Island,
South Cape Beach State Park, property
surrounding the Quashnet River and
the Reserve Headquarters. WBNERR is
part of the National Estuarine Research
Reserve System, which presently
includes 25 sites in 20 states and Puerto
Rico. WBNERR offers educational
workshops, summer science school and
lots of fun activities for both children
